Jazz at Rondo Plaza offers an outdoor jazz club complete with seating, tables, and professional sound system. Once a month in July and August, a different grouping of top local jazz talent will perform an early evening show. These summer shows are a highlight for nearby residents and an invite for others to visit for St. Paul's historic Rondo neighborhood.

Saxophonists Joe Mayo and Clay Pufahl lead this evening’s group: Big Shoe 4tet. The ensemble also includes bassist Jeremy Boettcher and drummer Joey Van Phillips. With all major players on the Twin Cities jazz scene, Big Shoe mixes the modern fire of bebop jazz with a modern take on 21st century jazz.

These events are put on in partnership with JazzAccess and are made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
